WHAT’S NEW AND TRENDING AT THE SURFACE DESIGN SHOW

This past week I went to the Surface Design show to see what’s new and trending this year in the interior surfaces front.

What’s new and trending:

Tiles that looks like natural stone are still going strong with larger and bigger pieces and more options.

This bookmatched Stataurio  porcelain tile  look just like the real thing but less expensive.  If you just want to get the look and don’t want to spend the money for the real thing this is for you.

There was a lot of focus on natural material with texture, like wood, and grass.

Haven’t really seen any new innovation in terms of smaller scale tiles.   Seen a lot of the classic timeless tiles, like these handmade tiles in deeper colour.

It looks like terrazzo tiles are making a comeback.

I’m in LOVE with the tile above! The colours are just mesmerising.  Can’t wait to specify this for a future client!

There was definitely more focus on eco friendly product.

Scratch and sniff tiles?  Yes they do smell green!

Limestones that are quarried here in the UK.  I did not know that they produce limestone in the UK.  I love the feeling and texture of limestones and I often specify them for projects.

Translucent  glass tile.  Great for a custom bar area!

That is what’s new and trending!  Can’t wait to visit the EcoBuild show to see what other interesting products and design I will discover!

As an interior designer I always strive to bring good design with innovative material to my designs by visiting design shows.  This is where I discover new products that I can incorporate into my designs that will make each of my client’s home unique!
